About Me:
Hello I am Gothi Michael Jason Lush. I am a 32 year old Kentucky native and proud father of three. I grew up in a faithful Christian but non church going family of six to nine depending on which of the extended family was staying with us. From ten to thirteen I was a very active member of a local Baptist church but became disillusioned when I began to notice the gimmicks they were using and had used on me to get me into the church. I felt that lying and bribing to fill seats sullied the spirit of the mission… Note not the faith it’s self.
At that time I also got back in touch with a few of my friends who were now practicing Wiccans and I joined them but continued my personal search for faith. After several years of study I have come to embrace my own faith and the realization that nearly all religions teach us the same basic things… Don’t hurt each other and try not to do dumb things.
That is a drastic over simplification but you get the gist.
I have explored the many world religions and find that they all inspire and they all set great examples of how to live life. Then I think that God would not particularly care how we envision him/her/them/it what would matter most is that we live life in a good way.
The frame I found that works best for me is Odinism. A faith that puts the family and community before the individual and understands that the functions of the world are necessary neither good nor evil. But that is a discussion for a later time. My wife Michele and I are always discussing and dissecting morality questioning our selves and the world. This keeps the world fresh and keeps ideas and dialog going. I feel very blessed as it is that many relationships that have gone on as long as ours (going on eleven) are wrecks at worst and stale at the best.
Well some basic facts about me, I am an advocate of gay marriage, the decriminalization of canibis and the sex industry. I have very heavy handed ideas about crime and punishment. Personaly I am anti-abortion and pro-death penalty, but believe everyone has the right to believe and act as they see fit. I still cling strongly to a rede given to us by Aleister Crowely: As it harms none; do as you will. This is an often misinterpreted saying, I’d say it is more misinterpreted than not. It does not mean to do what you want, but to do as you are willed, meaning what you are here for, your Dharma if you will.
I am currently waiting the opportunity continue my education in Psychology and Religious studies so that I can better serve the people.
